Updates July 2005

I realize that I haven't been blogging for a long while and since I got some free time now...

Let's see...

I've gotten the Secretary job for Rangers. I'm happy for the extra koko marks but now I wished I'd gotten the Asst. Sec instead. Life would be much easier then and I would have more free time. So tiring, everyday I have to type out something or photostat something. And I have to go for campfires and joint ventures. I'm so not the outdoor-sy type and yet I'm in rangers. Go figure.

I've been having a soar throat since like, last week. Lost my voice for 2 days. It went like so grouchy and rough, and I couldn't go loud or higher or lower. Otherwise, my voice would just go horrible. Thank God it's back to normal. I've learned to value the art of speech now. But I can't stop coughing.

I'm obsessing over a new show now. Veronica Mars. About this girl who is named Veronica Mars, obviously, and she used to be this popular girl with a perfect life until her boyfriend, Duncan broke up with her and her best friend, Lily got murdered. Her dad, Keith Mars thinks that Lily's dad was the one who committed the murder but no one believes him and so Veronica and her dad get shunned by the town plus, he even gets fired from his job as sherrif of the town. One year later, Veronica is working for her dad who's a private investigator and she's become this tough chick, who doesn't take crap from anyone. The people at her school, Neptune High, treats her like dirt and is generally mean and cruel to her.
So, she starts to investigate Lily's murder and episode by episode, she uncovers more and more hidden truths. And she also does investigations and solve mysteries on the sideline.
What's great about this show is the writing. The lines are so witty and the stories are so smart. And Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars totally shines on screen. Her character is so cool that you can't help but love her. You have got to watch this show. I've watched the entire first season already and eagerly awaiting season 2.

I've finally watched Singin' In The Rain. Yes, the 1952 classic musical. Loved it. Love, not like, love. It's so funny and alright, the plot is kinda simple but it's so hilarious and the music is so wonderful and gene kelly's tap dancing is, in one word, WOW. Seriously. Singin' In The Rain is the most famous song from the show but there are a few more songs in the show that are nicer. I'm listening to the songs every day now. And looking for more old classics to watch. They just don't make movies like they used to, and where did all the musicals go? Besides Moulin Rouge, that is.
